The value of community assemblies on climate change

Want to run your own community assembly on climate change? Find out about emerging good practice in community assemblies from across the world! In this session you can find out what works well, what doesn’t, and what can be learned from others who have used this approach as a way of enabling communities to be part of decision making processes. This session will also enable attendees to reflect on all of these learning points and recommendations and then explore what an assembly could look like where they are and how they could make the most impact.

Developing plans with children and young people
Hear about how young people at 3 schools (Woodside, St Machar and Lochside) were involved in drawing up priorities for their communities.  View their plans and discuss how we ensure the active and meaningful participation of young people (article 12 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child) is realised in deliberative processes

Torry Assembly Debrief
Just days after the Torry People's Assembly, join organisers and participants for an informal debrief on how the two days went, what we'd have done differently and what impacts we think are likely to come from the process

Running a green participatory budgeting process: lessons learned from year 1 of the Just Transition Fund Participatory Budgeting process:
Find out about participatory budgeting and what's involved in running the process, learn how the Just Transition Participatory Fund Budgeting process worked in practice and the lessons learned from that experience from the partners running the process.
