SINAPSE ASM WORKSHOP

Co-Design and Co-Production in Research: “The Real PPI”

 Tuesday 10th June 2025; 09:30 - 16:00

7F, Craig Suite, Sir Duncan Rice Library, University of Aberdeen, Meston Walk, Aberdeen, AB24 3AA

Free for Students to attend

Join us for a dynamic workshop exploring co-design and co-production. This event will highlight best practices, ethical considerations, and real-world examples of research co-production from a wide array of speakers, featuring contributions from lived experience representatives, clinicians, and researchers. The venue for the workshop is Number 10 on the Campus Map.

What To Expect?

Through interactive sessions, expert talks and collaborative discussions, attendees will:

  • Learn how to foster genuine co-production beyond “tick box”exercises
  • Gain insights on how to implement co-production in research and perspectives from peer researchers
  • Contribute to the development of a co-production toolkit

This workshop is supported by SINAPSE, Alzheimer’s Research UK and the University of Aberdeen.Whether a researcher, clinician, or someone with lived experience, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of inclusive, impactful research.

Objectives

  • Highlight the benefits associated with co-design and co-production of research
  • Discuss methods with which co-production has been conducted in the Eating Disorders and Autism Collaborative (EDAC) both with imaging-specific and general research
  • Develop a resource pack or toolkit to integrate ethical, impactful co-production in research

Additional Considerations

  • To include pre-workshop materials to 1.) Provide guidance on directions to location; 2.) Introduce attendees to co-design concepts; 3.) Provide some preliminary brainstorming material for potential development of a co-production toolkit or resource for SINAPSE.
