abstract submission guidelines

Note that ISEH2024 is an abstract-only conference. This means there will be no requirement to submit an extended abstract or full paper after your abstract has been accepted. Your accepted abstract will be the document that will be included in the conference book of abstracts.

Abstracts are managed through an external submission system. When you click on the submission link, you will be redirected to a different website where you can create an account and submit your abstract. Please ensure that you have downloaded the abstract template before submitting. Further information is provided below.

Step 1 - Please download the abstract template here

Step 2 - Submit your abstract here

Resubmitting your abstract

Please consider revising your abstract, as appropriate, in response to the feedback you have received via email, in order to ensure that the best version of the abstract appears in the ISEH2024 Book of Abstracts. The deadline for submission of your revised abstract is 15 April 2024. If you do not submit a revised abstract, your original submitted abstract will be published in its present form.

To resubmit, simply log into the same Abstract Portal used to submit your original abstract, click 'Edit Abstracts', from here you can make revisions and to upload a new abstract, navigate to the left hand column, click 'Abstract', re-upload the revised abstract document, then click 'Submit'

  • The 2-page limit is with References included
  • The maximum size of the file is 10 Mb
  • Abstract Submission Deadline - 10 November 2023, 23:59 (GMT)

When submitting your abstract, you will need to provide a presentation title, an abstract (maximum of 2 pages or 1000 words, including references), and the names and affiliations of all authors. Please confirm that at least one author will attend the conference to present the paper. You will also need to select at least one category from the theme list that best describes your submission.

ISEH operates a system of double-blind peer review. A submitted abstract is assessed by at least two reviewers. Submitted abstracts are immediately reviewed in-house to see if they conform to accepted academic norms, and to screen out incomplete, or out-of-scope submissions. All abstracts which have passed this initial screening are then assigned to two ISC members for reviewing through the online system. Each reviewer is asked to score the abstract based on four assessment categories (relevance to the conference, scientific importance, methodological rigour and quality of presentation).
