Travel to Aberdeen
If you are planning to travel to Aberdeen by train it is advisable to check your train times before you travel incase of any delays allowing a 15-20 minute taxi journey from the train station to the University Campus. If traveling by car, parking will be very limited on campus due to the Graduation ceremonies taking place at the same time as our conference. Please email cpdservices@abdn.ac.uk if you require parking information.
Transport in Aberdeen
There are two bus companies operating in the city – First Bus and Stagecoach.

First Bus provide more frequent buses between the city centre and the University of Aberdeen. The numbers 1 & 2 operate 7 days per week and travel along King Street which runs parallel with Elphinstone Hall at the University of Aberdeen. Alternatively, you can travel to the University from the city centre on the number 20 bus which runs up the High Street.
Stagecoach provide frequent buses from the airport to the city centre (Jet 727), as well as bus routes which pass very close to the University of Aberdeen, including destinations: Ellon, Balmedie, Peterhead, and Fraserburgh buses, numbers: 50, 53, X60, 61, X63, 67, X67, 68, X68.
Bus Pass | A grasshopper bus pass may be purchased on any bus for £5.60 per day or £25.80 per week, and will allow travel on any bus within zone 1 (all venues being used at ISEH 2024 are within zone 1, however if you wish to explore Aberdeenshire, you could purchase a ticket to travel within a wider zone).
Taxis
A taxi rank is located outside the main airport terminal and will cost approx. £25 to get to the city centre or the University of Aberdeen. Should you be required to call a taxi during your stay, local taxi firms include:

Bicycle Rack
There are plenty of places to secure your bike on campus. These racks are generally in well-lit areas and are covered by CCTV or overlooked. You can find out where you can store your bicycle and the types of storage available on our campuses here.
